Introduction
The WAMIT CNC control system is the brain of every WAMIT cutting machine. It combines a ruggedised industrial motion controller with Windows-based CAD/CAM software in a single package designed specifically for waterjet cutting. Operators can import existing drawing files, nest parts to minimise material waste, set cutting parameters by material type, and start cutting — all from one screen.
Software Features
- DXF / DWG / PLT / AI / STEP import – open files directly from AutoCAD, Illustrator, SolidWorks, and other packages.
- Integrated nesting engine – automatic and manual part nesting to maximise sheet utilisation and reduce offcuts.
- Material and speed library – pre-set cutting parameters for 50+ common materials; adjust and save custom profiles.
- Lead-in / lead-out optimisation – automatically positions pierce points away from finished edges to eliminate pierce marks.
- Kerf compensation – software adjusts toolpath to account for jet diameter so finished parts match drawing dimensions.
- 5-axis path generation – (FlowCut 5X only) generates simultaneous 5-axis toolpaths from 3D STEP/IGES surface files.
- Remote monitoring – production statistics and machine status viewable on connected PC or tablet.

Compatibility
The WAMIT controller is supplied standard with all WAMIT 3-axis and AC5-axis machines. Retrofit kits are available to upgrade older WAMIT machines. Third-party machine retrofits are assessed on a case-by-case basis — contact us with your machine make, model, and axis configuration.
