Waterjet Glass Cutting Machine Manufacturer & Supplier
Glass reacts sharply to minor errors. A diamond blade that vibrates a millimeter too much, a laser that runs too hot, or a scribe that slips on a large sheet — any one of these can ruin a good pane and turn it into costly waste.
Shenyang Reliable Technology manufactures waterjet glass cutting machines on one core principle: no contact with glass. No heat, no blade contact, no vibration – our machines work with pressurized water. The outcome is clean edges, no breakage and no guesswork for any cut, standard float or heat-treated tempered glass.
We are a China-based manufacturer & global supplier with years of experience, with factory price terms, OEM support and strict quality control, serving glaziers, architects, automotive companies, and wholesale distributors across industries and markets.
What Is a Waterjet Glass Cutting Machine?
A waterjet glass cutting machine cuts glass without any contact, using an ultra-high-pressure water stream of about 40,000 to 60,000 PSI. A CNC-controlled cutting head moves over the glass surface, and the water stream does all the work — no blade contact, no heat, no vibration.
This matters more with glass than any other material. Tempered glass carries internal compressive stress — that is what causes it to shatter into small, safe fragments when broken. Any localized heat or vibration during cutting can trigger that same stress and shatter the pane instantly. Our machine can process any type of glass that a professional workshop can process, from 3mm decorative panels to 50mm+ structural laminated glass, with precision each time.
How Does a Waterjet Glass Cutting Machine Function?
No complicated tooling setups, no heat zones to consider, no change of blades while working. That simplicity is exactly what makes it effective at scale.
- Water pressurized to cutting force – As a trusted waterjet direct drive pump supplier, Shenyang Reliable Technology pressurizes water to 40,000–60,000 PSI. We designed our pumps to deliver a stable pressure for long-term consistent performance since glass is sensitive to pressure changes that can create uneven cuts or rough edges.
- Abrasive is added for thicker or stronger glass – A pure waterjet can easily cut standard float glass up to 10 mm thick. Fine garnet abrasive is added to the water for tempered, laminated or thick structural glass. This enables the machine to cut difficult glass materials without heat or vibration.
- CNC head traces the exact cut profile: The CNC-controlled cutting head moves along the X and Y axes based on your design file, with an accuracy of ±0.1 mm. It can make straight cuts, curves, holes and custom shapes with one smooth cut without stopping or moving the glass.
- Finished glass – clean edges, ready to use: The cut edges are smooth, chip-free, and accurate, with the glass remaining strong and undamaged. The resulting products are suitable for glazing or further processing or installation. The used water and garnet abrasive collect in the catcher tank below, making disposal simple.
Operational Benefits of Using Waterjet Systems
There’s a purpose for technology. Each of the benefits below is directly attributed to reduced breakage, reduced rework, or increased throughput at your facility.
- No heat, no thermal cracking: Heat expands glass and rapid cooling contracts it — even a brief thermal spike during cutting can produce microfractures that lead to spontaneous cracking later. Waterjet is 100% cold – the glass temperature never changes; therefore, there’s no risk of thermal cracking.
- No vibration, no breakage of glass: A vibrating blade shakes the entire panel, creating breakage risk across the entire sheet. – especially with tempered glass over panels wider than 1,200 mm. With waterjet cutting, energy is focused solely at the cut point — no mechanical pressure is applied to the surrounding glass.
- Cut any shape, not just straight lines: Diamond saws and scribers are locked into straight lines and gentle curves. Waterjet CNC can follow any 2D path, including tight radius curves, circular cutouts, custom decorative outlines, and complex architectural profiles—jobs that other workshops can’t handle.
- Works on all types of glass: float, tempered, laminated, frosted, borosilicate, wire, glass mirror, stained, or optical glass—No machine change required, no separate equipment, and no production delays on mixed orders.
- Less waste, fewer breakages: Every broken sheet means lost material and lost labor. Waterjet cutting significantly reduces that risk, especially with expensive tempered, patterned, and large-format glass.
- Tight tolerances on every single piece: Architectural glazing and automotive glass leave no room for on-site shimming or grinding. A CNC waterjet delivers the ±0.1 mm precision that contractors and clients require across the full run.
Industries that Trust Waterjet Glass Cutting.
Waterjet is the right fit across a wide range of operations, from large architectural contractors to specialist decorative glass studios.
- Architecture: Structural glazing & facade panels — Architects and glass contractors rely on waterjet for facade panels, glass roofs, and structural glazing systems. For safety glass, waterjet processes do not crack oversized sheets as would blade processes and can process thick laminated safety glass.
- Automotive: Windscreens, sunroofs & side windows — Waterjet cuts tempered and laminated automotive glass and shapes that standard scribes can’t, such as windscreen and rear-window blanks, sunroof panels and side-window shapes.
- Interior fit-out: Shower screens, splashbacks & partitions — Fit-out specialists cut tempered shower screens, kitchen splashbacks, glass tabletops, and decorative partition panels and custom shapes scribers cannot manage.
- Decorative Glass: Art glass, stained panels & door inserts — Decorative glass artists and glaziers produce glass doors and furniture inserts, stained glass and art glass shapes that are precision-cut and of higher quality than hand-cutting or mechanical scribing.
- Electronics & optics: Instrument glass, display covers & optical panels — Electronics manufacturers cut borosilicate, optical and display cover glass for precision instruments, control panels and special equipment in a vibration-free process without causing micro-fractures in optical-grade materials.
- Glass fabrication: Mirror cutting, tiles & trade workshop orders — A key production tool in glass workshops, cutting mirrors, glass tiles and custom components for contractors, fitters and retailers. Waterjet is much more efficient than manual cutting for high-volume trade jobs with batch-mode complex shapes.
Waterjet Glass Cutting Machines vs. The Alternatives
Every cutting technique serves a purpose, but things can’t be the same with glass. This is the actual comparison.
Factor | Waterjet Glass Cutting | Diamond Blade / Scribe | Laser Cutting |
Heat generation | None; fully cold | Moderate friction heat | Very high; burn risk on glass |
Vibration & shatter risk | Zero; no contact | Present; breakage risk | Low vibration, but heat stress |
Complex shape capability | Full 2D freedom; any profile | Straight lines & gentle curves | Good on thin glass only |
Glass types supported | All, including tempered & laminated | Standard float glass mainly | Thin, non-tempered glass |
Edge quality | Smooth, chip-free, minimal polish | Rough; heavy finishing needed | Clean but discoloration risk |
Thick glass (>20mm) | Handles up to 50mm+ | Limited; blade wear increases | Not suitable |
Operating cost | Low: water & garnet only | Medium: blade replacement | High: optics & gas costs |
Why Choose Us as Your Waterjet Glass Cutting Machine Manufacturer & Supplier
Shenyang Reliable Technology, a dedicated waterjet glass cutting machine manufacturer & supplier, combines the design of high-pressure pumps with direct export. We sell direct — no middleman — to glaziers, automakers, OEM partners, wholesalers and distributors in 40+ countries. That means factory price, faster technical support, and full accountability for every machine we ship.
Glass is a fragile material, and the equipment used to cut it needs to be accurate and reliable. As in-house builders of the direct-drive and intensifier pumps, we understand the machine at its core; we adjust pressure and cutting-head performance to the actual types of glass a buyer runs, from thin float glass to thick laminated safety glass. That engineering depth is what keeps cuts clean and edges chip-free, sheet after sheet.
As a global supplier, we also manage the commercial aspect of the importer’s value: predictable lead times, export-grade crating, complete documentation, and responsive after-sales support. Our team offers 24-hour online service and free technical support; every machine is tested before delivery, and a warranty plus lifetime maintenance backs the investment.
For distributors and wholesalers building a long-term glass machinery line, our combination of in-house production, wholesale price, deep customization, and reliable global distribution makes us a supplier worth partnering with long-term.
Manufacturing Capabilities & Specifications
Our manufacturing company operates dedicated production lines for intensifier and direct-drive high-pressure pumps, CNC cutting tables, controllers, and complete turnkey glass-cutting systems — all under strict quality control. Manufacturing the core high-pressure components in-house allows us to maintain rigorous control on performance, consistency and delivery dates, even for large repeat orders.
Every machine can be customized for pressure ratings, table sizes, axis configurations, and control software to fit your glass processing environment. OEM & Custom Manufacturing Services.
We are a complete OEM / ODM manufacturer, which means that a machine can be built to your specifications and branded under your name, not a generic catalog machine. Table size, pump pressure, CNC control system, axis configuration, color scheme, logo, nameplate, and packaging can all be customized, and every build leaves the factory CE/ISO certified and export-ready.
This is ideal for two types of partners, particularly. Machine builders and integrators can install our pumps and cutting systems in their machines, saving their time and cost of developing high-pressure pump technology in-house. Distributors supply their branding requirements, and we deliver systems that are ready to use under their label.
The customization process is collaborative: share your glass types, thickness range, throughput and workshop footprint, and our engineering team proposes a configuration, confirms specifications and documents everything before production starts – with documentation of drawings and parameter sheets pending your technical team’s approval.
